What are OpenType features?
OpenType features are like the secret sauce for your fonts! They’re extra functionalities embedded in the font file, allowing you to customize the appearance of text. Think of it as the difference between a plain burger and one with all the toppings—OpenType features add that extra flavor.
Can you explain some common OpenType features?
Ligatures, alternate characters, and swashes are some popular OpenType features. Ligatures create seamless connections between certain letter pairs, alternates give you different character options, and swashes add those fancy, decorative flourishes. It’s like giving your text a personal touch!
How do I access OpenType features in my design software?
It’s a piece of cake! Most design software, like Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, has a panel where you can easily toggle OpenType features on or off. Just look for the “Character” or “Typography” panel, and you’ll find a treasure trove of font goodies waiting for you.
Do all fonts come with OpenType features?
Nope, not all fonts are created equal. While many of our fonts boast OpenType features, it’s always a good idea to check the font specimen or documentation to see exactly what delightful extras come with each typeface.
Can I customize OpenType features in my own way?
Absolutely! Design is all about creative freedom. Experiment with different OpenType features, mix and match characters, and find the combination that suits your project best. It’s like being the director of your own font movie!

Can I make changes to Acanski Type Co. fonts?
Modifying Acanski Type Co. fonts is not permitted. This includes actions such as adapting, translating, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or creating derivative works based on our fonts. In practical terms, this means refraining from editing or modifying the Acanski Type Co. Fonts (Software) files directly within font editing software like FontLab Studio, Fontographer, Font Creator, TypeTool, BitFonter, Glyphs, FontStruct, RoboFont, and similar programs.
However, you are allowed to import characters from the fonts as graphical objects into a drawing program such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc., and make modifications to these graphical objects as needed. This offers a creative way to enhance your designs while adhering to our usage guidelines.
I intend to share templates featuring your fonts. Can I provide the font files as a download?
No, redistributing the font files is not permitted. However, you are welcome to include links directing others to the source where they can obtain the fonts. This way, people can easily access and download the fonts themselves.
Can I share your fonts with clients?
No, each license is valid for a single computer. If you need to send your work to clients, we recommend converting the text to curves before sharing. This ensures your clients can view the design without requiring access to the original font files.
Can I use your free fonts for print on demand, such as T-shirts, stickers, etc.?
Yes but check what the licence you purchased covers.
I’m having trouble finding a specific glyph, letter, or sign in your font.
First, double-check if the font supports the glyph you need by looking at the Glyph Map tab on the font’s page. Hover over individual glyphs to see their Unicode values.
Afterwards, check your editing software for features that allow you to switch between available glyphs, letters, and signs. If your software lacks these capabilities, accessing the full range of glyphs in our fonts might not be possible. Consider using software that provides more comprehensive support for fonts in such cases.
Why doesn’t the font match what I saw on your website?
Users often encounter alternate characters displayed in their editing software rather than the default ones, leading to confusion.
Why can’t I locate fonts on my computer?
Begin by ensuring proper installation of your fonts. If they’re still not visible in your Font manager, try restarting your computer. Double-check the font manager for alphabetical organization, as issues may arise if your font list is extensive.
Are fonts considered intellectual property?
Absolutely. Fonts, much like music, or literary works, are crafted by real individuals and enjoy protection under specific intellectual property rights. More than just artistic creations, fonts are also regarded as software products, intricately engineered to offer features and flexibility that contribute to good design and usability.
If I copyright and/or trademark my logos using your font, does it breach the copyright license agreement?
No, it does not violate the copyright license agreement.
If I copyright and/or trademark my logo using your font, do I have to transfer any ownership of my mark to your company?
No, you are not required to transfer any ownership of your mark to our company.
